Wimbledon Japanese Ministry
In response to the large numbers of Japanese living in the Wimbledon area, Emmanuel has set up a number of meetings designed especially for them.
Japanese worship
First and third Sunday of each month, in the church, from 2:00 to about 4:00 p.m. including a time for tea, coffee, cake and conversation. The worship and teaching is entirely in Japanese, but the songs are printed in a romanized form allowing non-Japanese visitors to join in.
Our purpose is to bring Japanese believers together, enable them to worship and learn from the Scriptures in their own language, and provide a place to which friends can be invited to hear something of the Gospel. In addition to Japanese Christians, it is suitable for anyone who wants to come and find out more about Christianity.
Contact
Peter Yonge or Yuko Footman. Enquiries in Japanese or English are OK.
Please note: we have good links to other Japanese fellowships and meetings, both in London and around the country. Do contact us for information, for example if you have a Japanese friend who lives somewhere else in the UK, who you would like to introduce to a meeting, or just to some Japanese Christians nearer to them.
Japanese Ladies’ Bible study
Every Tuesday during school term time, from 1.00 to 3.00 pm in the Acorn Hall next to the church. Yuko Footman prepares the sessions, and everyone can join in with their thoughts about the Bible passage in a relaxed and free atmosphere.

Japanese-English Friendship Exchange
We arrange several events each year for Japanese and English women to take part together, for example a Christmas family party, a Valentine’s Day event, a Strawberry Tea during the tennis championships, and sessions for crafts or cookery. We will gladly keep you up to date with our programme if you provide us with your address.
