Sunday meetings

Our three Sunday congregations reflect different styles and we hope that one will be appropriate for you. Clear and relevant Bible teaching is a vital part of all three.

A hearing loop is in use at all services for the benefit of those using hearing aids. The church is wheelchair accesible - please talk to one of our welcoming team if you require assistance. Large print hymn books are available on request.

See the termcard for details of the texts to be preached on at the meetings for the coming term. Details of past sermon series may be found in our sermon library.

9.30 am Morning Prayer (Prayer Book)

The 9.30 meeting has a traditional format. There are classes for children under 14 at the same time, and Holy Communion happens on the first and third Sundays. This meeting follows the prayer book, whereas the format of the other meetings may vary slightly from week to week.

11.00 am Family Meeting

We welcome all members of the family to the first part of the 11.00 am service. A children's talk is given before the under 14s leave for separate classes (see Youth). Adults stay for Bible teaching, and Holy Communion on the fourth Sunday.

6.00 pm Evening Meeting

The 6.00 pm meeting is more informal. A music group leads the singing and the Bible teaching is geared both to the younger adult age range, and to those who come to find out more about the Christian faith.

Other Meetings

We have a prayer meeting on the second Wednesday of the month. This is time for regulars to praise God, thank Him for His goodness and ask for His blessing on the work at Emmanuel. The evening starts with a meal at 7:00 PM, with praise and prayer at 8:00 PM.

Housegroups run on the other weeks (during school term time).
