Welcome to Emmanuel Church, Wimbledon, a Church of England proprietary chapel. Our fellowship is made up of three congregations, drawn mainly from the South West London area. We are not a parish church.
We hope you will find all the information you need here, whether you are thinking of visiting us, already belong to the church or just wish to use our sermon library.
Our mission
Emmanuel's mission is to glorify God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit by listening and responding to God’s Word obediently, loving one another practically, and proclaiming Christ boldly.
Sunday meetings
The style of our three Sunday meetings vary, but clear and relevant Bible teaching is vital to all three:
-
9.30am uses the Book of Common Prayer or English Prayer Book.
-
11.00am is a larger meeting with an emphasis on families.
-
6.00pm is a more informal gathering focussing on younger adults but all ages are welcome.
Both morning meetings offer the full range of activities for children, from crèches, through Sunday School (age 3-8), Explorers (age 9-10) and Pathfinders (age 11-13), with a dedicated team of leaders, and you are very welcome to accompany your children to these groups, or keep them with you throughout our meetings.
We hope our meetings are welcoming; some will wear a jacket and tie, but many will wear an open neck shirt and even shorts in the summer! Our meetings last for about an hour, and drinks are served after each of the meetings, and a meal after the 6.00pm meeting, if you can stay on.
Exploring the Christian faith
We welcome those who are exploring and questioning the Christian faith - if that's you, why not go straight to the Christianity Explored section.
Finding us
You will find us on the corner of Lingfield Rd and the Ridgway at SW19 4QL.
Do join us, and make yourself known to us when you arrive!
